Technology group OMESTI Berhad (OMESTI) is further expanding its portfolio of healthcare activities with the formation of a new joint venture company (JVC), to provide diagnostic and screening services.

The new JVC, to be known as Aurora 360 Sdn Bhd, has been established between OMESTI Holdings Berhad and 360 Medic Holdings Sdn Bhd, a company involved in the operation of clinics and other medical facilities. Aurora 360 will set up and operate diagnostic and screening centres, with the first proposed centre expected to be launched at Aurora Place, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur.

Gerard Monteiro, Executive Director of OMESTI Berhad, said, “This new joint venture represents an important initiative on our part to expand our healthcare portfolio in line with our overall growth strategy. The JVC will be able to leverage the considerable expertise and resources of 360 Medic Holdings, combined with our own technology expertise, helping to further increase our footprint in the healthcare sector.”

The Aurora 360 Centre will provide a convenient and easily accessible facility for the community from the surrounding Bukit Jalil area and beyond to obtain a comprehensive range of screening and diagnostics tests. Subject to approval from relevant authorities, the screening services to be provided by the Centre include:

  • Ultrasound
  • MRI
  • CT Scanning
  • X-Ray
  • Bone Marrow Densitometry Test
  • Mammogram
  • Stress Test
  • Biochemistry Test
  • Immunoassay Tests

Medical practitioners and clinics will also be able to refer patients to the Centre for any screening required. Ample parking is available at the Aurora Place Mall, together with a variety of retail and food & beverage outlets.

This latest initiative follows on from OMESTI’s earlier expansion into the healthcare sector through its investment in the Bemed Group of companies, which operates a chain of pharmacies in the Klang Valley area.

“Going forward, our mission is to leverage our technology expertise and track record to help bring digitalisation in the healthcare space, putting the patient and consumer at the heart of the ecosystem. This can benefit the entire medical requirements chain, with services ranging from e-consultations with medical professionals to diagnosis, through to prescription issue and fulfilment, follow-up consultation and purchase of general medical supplies,” added Mr Monteiro.
