Osteopore Partners Avero MedNav to Make Biodegradable Implants Available in Hospitals Across Malaysia
Osteopore, a leading manufacturer of regenerative medical implants, is partnering with Avero MedNav for the distribution of their products. Through this partnership, Osteopore’s implants will be made available in 80 hospitals nationwide through Avero MedNav’s distribution network, making the latest in regenerative technology available to a broader range of patients in need.
Among the flagship Osteopore products that will be distributed by Avero MedNav include the Osteoplug (a plug-and-strip configuration used to fill gaps and promote bone tissue integration in craniotomies) and the Osteomesh (a temporary structural framework for regenerating bone and tissue cells).
“In line with our goal to pioneer regenerative medical science in the region, Osteopore is now looking to integrate our products into hospital treatment programmes nationwide,” shares Osteopore CEO, Goh Khoon Seng. “Our partnership with Avero is not only making bioresorbable implants more widely accessible to fellow Malaysians, but also strengthening its position as a non-intrusive alternative to traditional implants in the long term.”

Harnessing the body’s regenerative capacity to rebuild lost tissues, Osteopore’s bioresorbable polymer implants are temporary scaffolds that naturally dissolve in the bloodstream over a period of 18 to 24 months.
The implants are created through the combined technologies of 3D printing techniques, tissue engineering, and regenerative medicine. With structural integrity organically made to resemble the inner parts of a bone, the implants provide support during bone regeneration and may potentially minimise complications while new tissue cells develop at the site of injury.
Meanwhile, Avero MedNav — specialising in medical equipment and integrated OR solutions and site preparations for hospitals — will complement Osteopore’s products with virtual operation room (OR) technology from its partners, software-based healthcare provider Brainlab.

Using 3D modelling software, the Virtual OR enables surgeons to precisely map out surgical reconstruction procedures and visualise operation results. This combination of technologies is set to facilitate more complex surgeries in more hospitals — from craniofacial treatments to urgent reconstructive surgery for time-sensitive injuries. The technology is currently being used in 15 hospitals across five Malaysian states, including Subang Jaya Medical Centre, Gleaneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur, and Sultanah Aminah Hospital.
Commenting on the partnership, Khoo Yun Kong, Operations Manager of Avero MedNav adds: “Our strategic collaboration with Osteopore is a huge step forward in advancing the medical procedures offered by our local hospitals. We look forward to charting a new path for the Malaysian medical field together with our growing network of partners and hospitals, connecting more Malaysians to the most cutting-edge treatment the region has to offer.”
