ParkCity Medical Centre Inks MOU with ManagedCare for Better Patient Outcomes After Discharge

Award-winning ParkCity Medical Centre (PMC), part of the Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care Group, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ManagedCare Sdn Bhd (ManagedCare) to provide seamless patient care management and rehabilitation solutions after hospital discharge for better patient outcomes.

The MoU with ManagedCare, a well-established integrated care management solutions provider, will see care management and concierge services being made available at PMC to assess post discharge care requirements including home rehabilitation, home or nursing care, and caregiver training among others.

PMC Acting Chief Executive Officer Dr Ong Kuo Ghee said “In the aftermath of the pandemic, healthcare providers must continue to evolve to not just better meet changing needs but to enhance value for patients. Aftercare is particularly vital for optimum recovery following complex surgery or specialized treatment. However, there is a gap between post-hospitalization and home care in a patient journey.”

“We are confident that the multi-disciplinary services provided by ManagedCare will not only ease the transition from hospital to home but also fill a much-needed gap in ensuring proper care is received to mitigate risks post hospitalization. With ManagedCare’s track record, patients can be assured of holistic wellness support and customized support for continuity of care.”

The collaboration between PMC and ManagedCare will also bridge the gap between acute care in the hospital to short or long-term palliative care at home or in nursing facilities to further improve patient’s’ quality of life. This serves as an extra layer of support alongside curative treatment and can be provided at any stage of a serious illness. The goal is to provide a holistic continuum of care to relieve patient’s’ pain and suffering with impeccable assessment and guided treatments after patients are discharged from hospital, thereby alleviating hardship for both patients and their family members.

A subsidiary of Aged Care Group Sdn Bhd and winner of the Khazanah Impact Innovative Challenge (KIIC) 2021 for ‘Enhancing Ageing Services for Malaysians’, ManagedCare has been providing health, wellness, and care management services since 2018. Dr Carol Yip, Chief Executive Officer of Aged Care Group, said, “Affordability and quality care are possible when it comes to healing, retiring, and ageing well. Given the growing market demand, we take pride in being able to provide customized solutions through our continuum of care ecosystem to meet the needs of both organizations and individuals alike efficiently and effectively.”

In addition, the company offers B2B solutions to property developers who are involved in the construction of multi-generational residential developments by setting up hubs for ManagedCare to provide health, wellness and care services at their doorsteps.
