Established on August 30th, 2019, MAAFIM has played a significant role in patient management and the advocacy of alternative medicine, particularly during the challenging period of the pandemic. Building on the success of its previous conferences, the 3rd edition of the conference, “The Better Way”, is poised to provide an enlightening platform for healthcare practitioners to delve into functional medicine and interdisciplinary approaches.
Distinguished experts and healthcare practitioners from across the globe will converge at this conference to explore innovative insights in functional medicine. In addition to fostering an environment of education and knowledge-sharing, the event will facilitate networking opportunities for attendees to connect with like-minded professionals who share a passion for addressing the root causes of diseases and prioritizing personalized patient experiences.
“Embracing the principle that prevention is better than cure, I always prioritize proactive measures over reactive solutions. Early detections can help empower us to make well informed choices and conduct early interventions that can save more time, money and lives,” expressed Tan Sri Lee Kim Yew, Patron of MAAFIM.

The journey of MAAFIM began with the 1st International Conference, which was themed “Green Medicine Redefining Health Care.” The primary focus was on promoting the practice of green medicine – utilizing natural methods for health and healing, with a special emphasis on chronic conditions. The conference highlighted the role of food as medicine, exercise, yoga breathing techniques and the benefits of sunlight-derived Vitamin D. The event featured experts in gut health, shedding light on how to identify and manage gut issues through clean water, clean food, prebiotics and probiotics. Attendees also benefited from lectures on diet, regular exercises, the advantages of fasting, stress reduction techniques, the significance of quality sleep and the importance of nurturing healthy relationships.
Building upon the success of the inaugural conference, MAAFIM hosted its 2nd International Conference in November 2022, with the theme “Precision Medicine Redefining Healthcare.” This edition delved into the intricate world of Nutrigenomics and Nutrigenetics, where the right nutrition is tailored to specific genetic types. The conference emphasized the critical importance of precision medicine, highlighting the need to customize treatments for individual patients. As the world continued to grapple with the presence of COVID-19, the conference discussions extended to coping mechanisms for long COVID issues and managing the side effects of vaccines. Esteemed doctors and experts shared protocols for detoxifying from spike proteins and vaccine-related side effects while offering the latest insights from emerging scientific research and data.
With the forthcoming 3rd International Conference “The Better Way,” the organization aims to further its mission of promoting functional medicine and interdisciplinary practices. This approach is rooted in investigating the causes of diseases, especially chronic illnesses, and correcting them at their source. By acknowledging the limitations of conventional medicine in addressing lifestyle diseases, MAAFIM advocates for integrating evidence-based modalities such as ayurveda, homeopathy, herbal remedies, nutritional medicine, Qigong, energy medicine, exercise medicine, massage and music therapy for improved patient experiences and outcomes.
“As the President of MAAFIM, I invite all healthcare professionals, stakeholders and members of the media to join us in this journey towards a better and healthier future. Our work is altruistic and through events such as these conferences, we are committed to positively impacting patient care and promoting a holistic approach to well-being.” said Dr Paramjit Kaur, President of MAAFIM.
“We look forward to your presence at this significant event, as we strive to promote advancements in healthcare through the principles of functional and interdisciplinary medicine.”
