Cansurvive Announces the 13th Malaysian International Conference on Holistic Healing in Cancer 2023: Never Fear Cancer – Emotional Well Being

Non-profit cancer charity organisation Cansurvive Malaysia is excited to announce its upcoming 13th Malaysian International Conference on Holistic Healing in Cancer 2023. Scheduled to take place on 17 September 2023 at Berjaya Times Square, this year’s theme focuses on the integral role of emotional health in cancer.
In an exclusive statement, Mr. C D Siby, the President of Cansurvive Centre Malaysia Sdn Bhd, shared, “Rooted in our mission and vision, this FREE annual conference is designed to provide insight into holistic healing for those challenged with cancer. This year, our theme is centered on ‘Never Fear Cancer – Emotional Well-Being’, underlining the importance of mental and emotional health when grappling with the disease.”
The conference will feature a roster of distinguished speakers, esteemed researchers, accomplished medical doctors and respected experts in their fields, from Malaysia, USA, Mexico, and India, bringing a wealth of knowledge and insights to the event.
Among them, Professor Dato’ Dr. Andrew Mohanraj, President of the Malaysian Mental Health Association, shared, “Developing healthy coping mechanisms and recognising when to seek support is vital as it contributes to resilience. Moreover, cultivating positive relationships and practicing empathy towards others fosters a sense of connection and belonging.”
Providing insights into the intertwining realms of mind and body, Professor Dr. Suresh Govind added, “Psychoneuroimmunology is a subject that converges three distinct disciplines – mind, neurology, and immunology – offering a unique perspective in tackling the disease. A positive mindset, or ‘living in hope’ activates the mind to mirror a higher state of consciousness which triggers healing.”
Additionally, Dr. Ho Ting Seng explains the value of natural healing aids, observing that “Raw tualang honey possesses wound-healing properties, promoting tissue repair and supporting the overall healing process. Also, as a natural source of carbohydrates, it serves as a useful food source as a calorie-dense food, when the body is unable to digest much.”
Since 2011, Cansurvive Malaysia has been hosting their annual conference for people challenged with cancer and their families and friends, as well as others interested in the subject matter, free of charge, just like all other Cansurvive’s conferences.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank our main sponsor Malaysia Foundation, Founder Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Vincent Tan for generously sponsoring our conference again this year, reflecting his unwavering support for community health initiatives,” added Dr Siby.
Through its conferences and workshops, Cansurvive aims to provide extensive information for people challenged by cancer, or those in remission, so they can augment their treatment plan to maximise their chances of a full recovery.
