Medical Genetics Conference Kuala Lumpur 2022 Addressed Challenges and Innovative Solutions in Genetic Diagnostics and its Achievements

The Medical Genetics Conference Kuala Lumpur 2022 held from 7-9 September was successful in being a hub for exchanging ideas, the latest innovations and a networking platform between medical professionals, academicians, and research scientists from private and public sector as well as research institutions.
It is a collaborative effort between Pantai Premier Pathology, Medical Genetics Society of Malaysia and Chapter of Medical Genetic Pathology, College of Pathologists, and Academy of Medicine Malaysia. The conference addressed the challenges and innovative solutions in genetic diagnostics and its achievements. Dr. Haji Tahir bin Aris, Acting Director, Institute for Medical Research officiated the event during the opening ceremony. More than 20 speakers shared their knowledge, experiences and achievements in Genetics and its related topics.

The emerging field of medical genetics which involves precision medicine has become increasingly important in effective patient care. It is an area of immense potential which uses personal information and integration of multi-omics technologies to prevent, diagnose, or treat genetic diseases. The increased investment into this space can be attributed to the fact that treatments based on an individual’s genetic makeup show greater promise in improving health care all in all.
